Howard Moody is Vice President of Information Technology (IT), reporting to MDS Pharma Services President David Spaight and to MDS Inc. Chief Information Officer (CIO) Tom Gernon. Mr. Moody leads the business unit’s efforts to improve processes and increase operational efficiency by delivering and overseeing competitive IT solutions that support global business requirements and the strategic growth plan. His background combines Clinical Laboratory and Contract Research Organization (CRO) experience with more than 30 years of diverse IT positions of increasing responsibility.
Prior to joining MDS, Mr. Moody was CIO at Medifacts International, a CRO in Rockville, Maryland. There he was responsible for all global information technology and services, leading a team of 30 and partnering with business leaders to develop processes and manage strategic IT planning to support business objectives. Before that, he worked for Churchill & Harriman, a Princeton, New Jersey-based pharmaceutical company, as a Senior Management Consultant. That experience was preceded by five years at Covance, also in Princeton, as CIO and Senior Vice President, where he managed a 300-person IT organization. His experience also includes IT leadership roles at Quest Diagnostics, SmithKline Beecham, and Deluxe Data Systems.
A native of New York, Mr. Moody earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Fredonia, and a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin.
